Why Choose South Cerney Gravel?
South Cerney Gravel, Cotswold Chipping, Gravel Suppliers, Driveway Chippings

Customers looking for a good gravel for driveways often have their hearts set on Cotswold Chippings due to its warm golden colour and consistently sized chippings which provide a nice even finish. However, Cotswold gravel is not the most suitable material for landscaping.
The chippings typically have sharp edges which makes them move around a lot, that means you will have to spend more time maintaining a Cotswold Chippings driveway compared to other gravels.
They are also quite soft compared to other gravels, causing it to break down much more quickly. While your Cotswold gravel driveway might look beautiful the day it is laid, within a couple of years it will start to look a little rough around the edges, even if you’ve maintained it properly.
South Cerney Gravel is the harder wearing alternative
One alternative to the less durable Cotswold Chippings is South Cerney Gravel. It is perfect for both driveways and landscaping. South Cerney Gravel still has the same warm honey colour as Cotswold Gravel, but the chippings are rounder allowing them to stay in position longer once they have been laid. That means your driveway will require much less maintenance.
The gravel is also made from much denser sandstone, which makes them much less likely to break down even if you park a large Range Rover or even a caravan on your driveway. With minimum maintenance your drive will look as good in five years time as it did the day it was laid. That's not something you can always say about a Cotswold Chippings driveways.
Hard wearing and comfortable
Another advantage is the rounder edges are much more comfortable underfoot than the sharp edges of other gravel. This is something to think about if you have small children in the house. Typically, we recommend South Cerney Gravel as a landscaping material to all customers with small children for this reason alone.
And don’t worry, you will still have the same satisfying crunch underfoot that other gravels and chippings provide, but if you ever walk around the garden barefoot, you’ll appreciate the softer chippings every time.
Also suitable for general landscaping
South Cerney Gravel isn't just suitable for drives and pathways, it makes an excellent decorative gravel as well. Use its beautiful natural honey colour to enhance borders, beds and water features, you could also arrange it with paving slabs to create a nice patio area for the summer.
We find that it really is a versatile landscaping gravel. It is long lasting and extremely hardwearing, with soft natural colours that compliment any home. You really can’t go wrong with South Cerney Gravel.
