Rivar Sand and Gravel were happy to be able to support Eco Friends a couple of weeks ago when they were invited to attend the Sustainability Market at the Corn Exchange.
The Corn Exchange is working really hard to reduce it’s carbon footprint, this can be seen in the paper packaging it uses now for its sweets and the re-usable cups and glasses at the bar, in addition to this they held a Sustainability Market on Saturday 9th March.
The idea behind this venture was to gather like minded individuals and interested parties together to share ideas and network, all whilst browsing stalls from eco-friendly makers and businesses.
The event was free to anyone that wanted to pop in, and it was a really well attended event with lots of ideas and ways to celebrate greener living.
One very popular stall was the screen printers who had collected a rail of second hand t-shirts from the Cancer Research shop that hadn’t sold, customers could then donate money and screen print a design of their choice onto the t-shirt, all money raised went back to the Cancer Research shop. This gave another life to t-shirts that would have ended up in landfill and raised extra money for a well worthwhile charity!
Rivar Sand and Gravel are keen to support Eco Friends and to help spread the word that we can all work together to create a greener way of life.
