Our team recommends that you select a 14mm-20mm gravel for driveway applications because they offer greater texture than smaller size gravels. The 10mm chippings are easier to compress and can result in ruts which need refilling. The 20mm gravel for drives boasts a natural safety feature; ice, frost and snow find it difficult to form a sheer cover so the risk of slipping across the driveway to the car is significantly reduced. Torvill and Dean-esque demonstrations can be avoided, what a relief! The Beast from the East’s cousin may wish to pay a visit next winter. Be prepared.
To carry out the best installation, don’t forget to lay weed membrane or the Coredrive gravel framework; why spend time tidying the gravel or pulling weeds when you don’t have the time or the devotion to do so? Planning and wise action today means that you secure free time for yourself later on.
Core Drive is supplied by our teams in connectable 1200mm X 800mm sheets at £17.40 per sheet. The sheets are almost impossible to see from the road.
Weed membrane without the honeycomb framework, costs the following:
- 50m X 1m roll it’s £79.95.
- 50m X 2m full roll costs £125.00.
- 50m X 4.2m roll is just £210.
